Urban Scenes Atlanta, GA

Walking with a group from the Atlanta Outdoor Club.  We started out by visiting the vendors at Piedmont Park Farmer’s Market.  I wanted to buy more, but didn’t want to carry a lot of produce during our walk…  next time I’ll bring a more substantial backpack.GA_Atlanta_PiedmontPark-1

Old and new.GA_Atlanta_PiedmontPark-3 Persimmons!  I bought four.GA_Atlanta_PiedmontPark-4 This guy walking around in flip flops…  he must live near by.GA_Atlanta_PiedmontPark-5

The farmer was giving out samples.  The samples clearly were not clean which I found amusing; did he not think that we didn’t want to eat dirty samples(?)  Perhaps we all need a little dirt in our diet.   I bought a bag of arrugula… (which I will wash before consuming!)

The woman on the left (in green sweater) mixes these most amazing teas.  I think it is her sister on the right helping out.  I bought a Red Tea (roiboos) flavored with mint and chocoate, it is one of the best teas I’ve ever had!  And I’ve had a lot tea in my life.  I will buy more from them.GA_Atlanta_PiedmontPark-7

There was this quiet drama going on with these dogs; you know how they look at each other, yet because of their leashes cannot do anything but look…  Then the child decided to run out and she either purposely or not tossed her bottle.  Mom runs after child; Dad calmly sits with the dogs.GA_Atlanta_PiedmontPark-8 Then we circled around the park.  A group doing yoga in a great setting.GA_Atlanta_PiedmontPark-9

The bridge, Park Drive.  I have walked along that bridge probably hundreds of times.  It is quite impressive from below.GA_Atlanta_PiedmontPark-10

And covered a mile or so, along the Beltline to Irwin Street, and back.  The old Sear’s building still has a big presence in the area.GA_Atlanta_PiedmontPark-12
